It's becoming easier to form feathers smoothly and with greater speed. I'm also finding it easier to see the whole image in order to try to plan where to go next or how to curve a single plume to fit better. Practicing
does make a difference.

I'm slowly adding more feather motifs to my sampler quilt that I'm using as a practice sandwich. It is so much easier to make smooth feather shapes with a pen than a needle. I
think "rounded tip," but my hands and the fabric sometimes
choose to do "bent and lumpy."
Slowly, but surely, this quilt will get done.
Looove your feather sketches!!Are you using the tutorial from the free motion quilting challenge thingie?
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm following along with SewCalGal as she offers tutorials from experts throughout the year. I'm so amazed and thankful that these instructors are so willing to give so much of their time and expertise. It'll be a great year of learning.
